We doubled the recipe so Squidge and Moppet could both make these, so while Squidge whisked two egg whites till stuff, I sifted 16oz of icing sugar. They then mixed the icing sugar with the eggs plus some peppermint extract and green food colouring. We did add some more icing sugar as we went as the result wasn't quite thick enough, it needs to be a play dough consistency.
We then rolled it out into sausages about an inch thick (this was Moppet's favourite part!) on an icing sugar-dusted board, dusted them with a bit more, and then put them in the fridge for an hour (that wasn't in the recipe but we wanted to make them a bit easier to cut as they were sticky.)
We then cut them into slices, and even dipped some of them in melted dark chocolate.
We realised we still had a gift box and little gold cases left from Squidge's Something Sweet subscription, so we put some in as a present for Gruff :) They were gooood
